Important information regarding pests

Pests of various kinds are unfortunately becoming increasingly common. Anyone can be affected, and if you have pests in your home, it does not mean you have done anything wrong. They can arrive with goods or items, or spread from other apartments. Regardless of how the pests entered, we all have the same obligations as members.

  • Contact Anticimex immediately if you suspect an infestation. Provide your address, the name of the association, and state that the association is insured through Folksam. Also inform us on the board — we are bound by confidentiality and can provide guidance.
  • If you discover pests in the association’s common areas, you must notify the board immediately.
  • Always follow Anticimex’s instructions regarding cleaning, preparations, and treatment. Do not move or discard placed traps without their approval.
  • Provide access for necessary inspections, decontamination, and follow‑up visits when notified. This applies even if your own apartment shows no signs of pests.
  • Be extremely cautious when purchasing second‑hand furniture, especially beds, as they may contain pests. Inspect items carefully before buying and do not bring in anything you know or suspect is infested. If the price seems too good to be true, consider it a warning sign.
  • You are entitled to help if you are affected. Pest control is free of charge for you as a member thanks to the protection included in our property insurance.

Neglect can have serious consequences. The board takes actions that hinder decontamination or expose neighbors to further spread very seriously. Failures may lead to a written notice requiring corrective action. If negligence or carelessness causes an infestation or further spread, the association may demand compensation for costs you are responsible for. If a member continues to obstruct the decontamination process despite warnings, the right to use the apartment may be forfeited. This may mean you must move and that your condominium is forcibly sold.

Report early and follow the instructions — protect yourself and your neighbors.

Kind regards,

The Board
