Skötsel trädäck

• Om du har krukor, möbler eller liknande på uteplatsen, se till att de står på fötter eller hjul för att undvika fukt och rötskador på trädäcket.
• Det ska finnas en luftspalt på ett par centimeter mellan trädäcket och jorden i planteringslådorna som omger uteplatserna. Detta för att förhindra fuktskador och att träet åldras i förtid.
  
  Rengöring:
• Är trädäcket lätt smutsig tvättas den bäst med vatten, såpa och en borste. Upplöst smuts går sedan att skölja bort med vatten.
• Använd inte högtryckstvätt med högt tryck då det kan rugga upp träytan vilket sliter på trädäcket. Det går bra att använda lågt tryck, gärna i kombination med en roterande borste som är skonsamt mot träet.
• Trädäcket kan ytbehandlas för att bli mjukare och smutsavvisande genom så kallad såpskurning t ex med linoljesåpa.

Råd om växtlighet

• För att skydda stödmurar och minska risken för att rötter letar sig in i fastigheten ska följande växter inte planteras:
• Invasiva växter. Naturvårdsverket har aktuell information
• Växter med aggressivt rotsystem eller kraftig pålrot.
• Träd eller större buskar. Svagväxande träd och träd som beskärs för att inte bli för stora är ok. Träd och buskar ska hållas under 3 meter.

Skadedjur

Det är vanligt att man ser råttor under sommaren, det betyder inte att dem har flyttat in. Hör av dig till Styrelsen om du ser råtter eller spår av dem.

För dig med uteplats i markplan finns det ett antal åtgärder du kan vidta för att råttor inte ska känna sig välkomna:

• Det är lätt för råttor att ta sig in under trädäcket, försök täta med t ex gnagarskydd, ett metallnätt med små maskor.
• Råttorna rör sig längs väggar och tar skydd i tät vegetation. Undvik tät vegetation på uteplatserna.
• Odla helst inte frukt och grönsaker, även om dem inte äter det dras dem till det.

Maintenance of wooden decking

• If you have pots, furniture, or similar items on the patio, make sure they are placed on feet or wheels to avoid moisture and rot damage to the decking.
• There should be an air gap of a couple of centimetres between the decking and the soil in the planting boxes surrounding the patios.This is to prevent moisture damage and premature aging of the wood.
  
  Cleaning:
• If the decking is dirty or have algae growth, it can be best washed with water, soap, and a brush. Dissolved dirt can then be rinsed off with water.
• Do not use a high-pressure washer with high pressure as it may roughen the wood surface, which wears on the decking. It is fine to use low pressure, preferably in combination with a rotating brush that is gentle on the wood.
• The decking can be treated to become softer and dirt-repellent through so-called soap scrubbing, for example with linseed soap.
  
  

Advice on Vegetation

• To protect retaining walls and reduce the risk of roots infiltrating the property, the following plants should not be planted:
• Invasive plants; the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket) has up-to-date information.
• Plants with aggressive root systems or powerful taproots.
• Trees or larger shrubs, above 3 m. Slow-growing trees and trees pruned to prevent them from becoming too large are acceptable. Trees and shrubs should be kept under 3m.

Pests
It is common to see rats during the summer, however, this does not mean they have “moved in”. Contact the Board if you see rats or evidence of them.

• For those with a ground-level patio, there are several measures you can take to make rats feel unwelcome.
• It is easy for rats to get under the deck; try sealing it with, for example, rodent-proof metal mesh with small openings.
• Rats move along walls and seek shelter in dense vegetation. Avoid dense vegetation around patios.
• Avoid growing fruit and vegetables, as even if they don't eat them, they are attracted to them.
